The Center for Fine Art Photography and CameraArts Magazine are partnering to bring photographers a unique opportunity to promote their work and talent. Those working in all styles and schools of thought are invited to submit their work for consideration in this cooperative call for entry. Traditional, contemporary, avant-garde, creative and experimental works that include new processes, mixed techniques, and challenging personal, emotional, or political statements are welcome in this open-themed competition.
The exhibition is open to all professional and amateur, domestic and international photographers working with digital or traditional photography or combinations of both. Grand Prize recipient will be given an eight-page portfolio, plus the front cover of the 2007 November/December CameraArts issue. Entries due 4 September 2007. Visit site for details.

The Pixel Awards announced its 2007 call for entries today, May 29. The Pixel Awards are the cutting-edge website award, annually honoring compelling sites in 20 unique categories that have shown excellence in web design and development.

Six Colorado photographers will be chosen to display their six-image portfolios in the Center for Fine Art Photography’s gallery for this special exhibition. The date of the Colorado Photographer’s Exhibition is October 1 – 4, 2007. The opening and reception is Friday, October 1 during the Fort Collins Gallery Walk.

More than just a competition, “Destination Design�, which is de KENNER’s initial Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) programme, aims to provide designers with a great platform to gain exposure in the highly-competitive fashion industry.
Additionally, de KENNER will be offering a one year fashion designing contract to the top three winners of this competition. These winners would also be given the opportunity to have their own clothing label at de KENNER’s boutique, located in the hip and trendy Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.

The mission of Art in Motion is to make Lexington, Kentucky, more vibrant and livable through the fusion of public art, public transportation and public spaces. The first goal is to enhance Lexington’s transit system through the design and construction of bus shelters that incorporate murals and sculpture.
Professional architects, engineers, sculptors and artists are eligible. The contest is also open to submittals by students under the supervision of professional architects, engineers, sculptors and artists. Deadline for proposals: 16 July 2007. For the fifth year in a row, Electrolux is encouraging students around the world to fire up their creative minds to design household appliances for the future. In the 2007 edition of the design competition, Electrolux Design Lab, students are asked to create eco-friendly sustainable household appliances and solutions for 2020.
The competition is open to all design students worldwide via the Internet, www.electrolux.com/designlab. The nine best entries will be invited to Paris, France, for a final event in late November this year, where the winner of Electrolux Design Lab 2006 will be announced. First prize: 5,000 Euro and six-month scholarship at one of the Electrolux Group’s global design centers. Deadline: 1 August.

Born on the initiative of Associazione Culturale Lazzari, Textile Design Contest2 is aimed at the creation of links between young designers who are about to enter the world of work and the domains of Textile, Fashion and Clothing Industries. Held with the co-operation of Regione Veneto, Provincia di Treviso and Comune di Treviso, IUAV University it is also sponsored by the Camera di Commercio, Ascom, Unindustria Treviso.
Entrants will be asked to create and design a fabric through design methods that border on actual professional performances, with a direct concrete approach to textile industry and the related fields of fashion and Italian fashion in particular. Any creator, aged 18 to 30, may enter the contest provided he/she is interested in the design and creation of fabrics. For example students of Fashion, Design and Art Faculties, students of Schools for textile technicians, of Architecture, Fashion and Graphic Design Institutes, as well as of Academies of the Fine Arts etc. are all eligible.
